Rebuilding

A two alarm fire started about four hours after our worship service ended the afternoon of Epiphany Sunday, January 2nd, 2022. The fire was out by around 7PM. Fortunately, no one was injured. The Spokane Fire Department has determined that the cause of the fire was an "overloaded circuit resulting in a malfunction" on the chancel in the sanctuary.

While a typical rebuild project for a worshipping would be to simply redesign a church building, over the past few years, we have built partnerships with a number of refugee serving and development organizations, and are in the process of utilizing our property to build housing for refugee, immigrant, and low-income families, as well as have a common community space that will serve these families and the wider community.

In September of 2025, we held a land dedication ceremony, which was attended by about 70 people. Guests included LaRae Wiley of the Colville Confederated Tribes, bagpiper Kenyon Fields, Presbytery Missional Expeditor Katie Stark, a representative from the office of Governor Bob Ferguson, and Spokane City Council President Betsy Wilkerson who pledged to attend the first worship service in our new worship space.
